KILN DRIED LOGS (FAQ’S)

FAQ’s

On May 1, 2021, England implemented the Ready to Burn legislation, which prohibits the sale of highly polluting fuels like wet wood and house coal for home use. This new law aims to reduce the environmental impact of domestic burning. To comply with the legislation, wood sold in volumes of up to 2m³ must have a moisture content of less than 20% and be certified as Ready to Burn.

The Ready to Burn certificate guarantees that the wood fuel is ready for immediate use and will burn more efficiently than unseasoned or green wood. This, in turn, will reduce the overall environmental impact of domestic burning. By using Ready to Burn firewood, with a moisture content of 20% or less, instead of wet wood, you can significantly decrease the levels of emissions in the air you breathe. It is a safer option for indoor burning and better for your appliance and/or chimney.

Definitely! Kiln Dried Firewood is a better and more reliable option than seasoned logs. Although some seasoned logs can be good, their moisture levels can be high and inconsistent. On the other hand, Kiln Dried Firewood is the most popular firewood option available in the market.

The logs are placed in a kiln for a specific time and at a set temperature to ensure the moisture levels are always below 20%. This guarantees that the firewood is ready to burn from the day of purchase. In contrast, seasoned logs may take longer to dry, and the drying process is not as efficient. As the demand for logs goes up, some suppliers may be tempted to sell wood that isn’t quite ready for burning. In conclusion, if you are looking for a reliable and hassle-free firewood option, our quality Kiln Dried Firewood is the way to go.
